People looking at a hemp research plot at the Mountain Horticultural Crops Research and Extension Center on August 5.

8/8/2019 – We had an amazing Hops and Hemp Twilight Tour on August 5 at the research station in Mills River. Over 200 people viewed research on breeding hops for the Southeast, the influence of planting date on growth of Cherrywine and Baox CBD hemp, an extensive replicated CBD hemp variety trial, and four strains of CBD hemp grown on white plastic and bare ground. There was lots of discussion with researchers and amongst attendees. And we finished off the evening with a beautiful rainbow.

If you weren’t able to attend this field day, there is another opportunity for you to see NC State University research on hemp and to visit with the faculty, growers, and industry representatives. The field day will be August 27, 2019, at the Piedmont Research Station in Salisbury, NC. Dr. Angela Post is organizing this one. The details are below:
